Installing Dividers and Strips

Terrazzo offers endless possibilities for design creativity. Dividers and strips, which can be made from various materials including metal or plastic, are set in place to define patterns and sections within the floor. These elements are carefully incorporated to ensure precision in the final design.

Pouring and Spreading the Matrix:

With the substrate prepared and dividers in place, we pour and spread the matrix evenly. Our skilled craftsmen use trowels and screeding equipment to ensure a consistent thickness, typically ranging from 3/8 to 5/8 inch (10-16 mm), depending on the project\’s requirements.

Aggregates Placement:

This is where terrazzo truly comes to life. Aggregates, which can be marble, glass, or other chips, are applied to the wet matrix. Our team employs specialized techniques to achieve even distribution and a strong bond between the aggregates and the matrix.

Grinding and Polishing:

After curing (usually within 14 to 21 days), the grinding and polishing process begins. Diamond abrasive pads are utilized to grind the surface, revealing the beauty of the aggregates and creating a smooth, level, and glossy finish. This is where the true elegance of terrazzo is unveiled.

Sealing and Protecting:

To preserve the terrazzo\’s shine and protect it from stains, moisture, and wear, we apply a high-quality sealer. This final step enhances the aesthetics and extends the longevity of your terrazzo floor.

Final Inspection:

Before we consider our work complete, a rigorous final inspection takes place. We ensure that the terrazzo floor meets our exacting quality standards, making any necessary touch-ups or corrections.
